How bad is diet soda? : GERD
Literally dozens of yellow liquid movements with mucus first few days have reduced a bit (I have IBS-D [irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea], but this is insane), only threw up about 500 ml water after drinking too much at one time; must sip only. I am not ready for the BRAT diet or real food yet. I will try miso soup to get some salted liquids inside.
By practicing healthy drinking habits and taking note of how your symptoms respond to specific drinks and foods, you can reduce your reflux symptoms and improve your quality of life. If your GERD or acid reflux hasn’t responded to purely dietary changes, other remedies and medications may offer relief. Alcohol can negatively affect acid reflux, regardless of whether you’re drinking a glass of wine or downing a margarita. Hard liquor is more likely to aggravate quickly reflux conditions, though a glass of wine with a acidic or large meal can cause discomfort, too. When using dried herbs as extracts in tea, you should use one teaspoon of herb per one cup of hot water.
For example, if they notice that every right time they eat spicy foods they have heartburn, they should eliminate spicy foods. However, I no longer recommend eliminating all of these food items to all patients because of the lack of supporting data. At night might worsen pH and sphincter pressure Some preliminary evidence was found that sleeping on the right side, though it is unclear whether the sphincter is more relaxed in this position.
Laying on the left side has been shown to increase sphincter pressure and esophageal pH, at night but it is not feasible to advise this positioning for most patients. Chamomile is an age-old treatment for indigestion. It calms the stomach and soothes the intestinal tract.
The bubbles and chemical make-up of coca-cola makes the beverage an effective cure for getting rid of stomach blockages, a medical study has revealed, with doctors recommending the drink as an alternative to surgery.
I thought I was better on Sunday and got up and out for a while. The afternoon and just felt sick again I got home in. I went to bed sick to my stomach and got up numerous times during the night feeling sick and with diarrhea.
Usually I need to do this for only a day (I am already better), but I need to continue this for 3-5 days sometimes. This morning with my stomach gurgling and feeling a bit strange I woke up. Gastroenteritis is going work so I rung up sick just in case around.
I walked around a few minutes and began throwing up then. I would feel better after throwing up (severe, projectile), go back to bed and within 30 to 45 minutes it would start again. I had one episode of diarrhea. I went to the emergency room and was put on an IV and given anti-nausea medicine which helped my gastroenteritis immensely. I have had an episode like this and the nausea was unbearable never.
I was sent home a few hours with anti-diarrheal and anti- nausea medicine later. Twenty four hours later I am still very tired but after drinking a fresh tender coconut I am feeling much better.
I have been experiencing nausea and severe abdominal cramping with diarrhea for 3 days, no fever. I started feeling sick to my stomach with a mild stomach ache 3 nights ago and went to bed with a bucket. I woke up at 4 am and vomited huge amounts until 7 am continuously, when I vomited bile. I woke up again about 10 am feeling much drank and better a glass of water, which when it hit my stomach, came right up back.
I just want to share this, it might help somebody. After 7 years of reflux problem, just the silent type then more lately, heartburn sometimes too, I have found sonething to bring total relief. My biggest problem was chronic throat and coughing clearing.
You can’t handle this gastroenteritis without it. Hope it doesn’t last 10 days. Gastroenteritis is so frustrating.
I then decided to take some probiotics. I bought acidophilus and am taking two chewable tablets per day as per instructions on the bottle. Have been taking for FOUR days and COUGHING NO LONGER just. It feels like a miracle.
I have only just been able to get a bit of sleep, but wake up in pain. When able to watch a bit of TV, can’t watch food scenes.
