If you notice any unusual bleeding, make an appointment to see your doctor. She’ll ask you questions and give you a physical examination. Symptoms such as changes in bowel habits, stool color (black or red), consistency, and whether you have pain or tenderness may tell your doctor which area of the GI tract is affected. Gastric (Stomach) CancerWhat are the common signs and symptoms of stomach cancer?
There are many reasons for fecal incontinence, such as a case of diarrhea that strikes suddenly, or there are damaged muscles or nerves within your rectum. Celiac disease is a digestive disorder that damages your small intestine and keeps it from absorbing the nutrients in food. A protein found in wheat, barley, and rye called gluten is what causes the damage to the intestinal tract. An anal fissure is a small, painful tear in the lining of the anus. Although it is uncomfortable, burning diarrhea is not usually a sign of a serious health condition. Most cases resolve within a few hours or days on their own, or with the help of basic home remedies.
Decrease the amount of food you eat. The esophagus (the tube that connects your mouth to the stomach) has a tight band of muscles at the lower end (lower esophageal sphincter [LES]) that closes after the food enters the stomach and prevents the stomach contents to reenter the esophagus. If this sphincter weakens or relaxes at the wrong time, stomach acid can back up into the esophagus, causing heartburn and its complications. If your heartburn symptoms occur more than twice a week you should see your health-care professional to make sure no serious problems are present.
Your doctor will discuss the appropriate course of action with you. Tears that occur in the lining of the anus are called anal fissures. This condition is most commonly caused by constipation and passing hard stools, although it may also result from diarrhea or inflammation in the anus. In addition to causing bleeding from the rectum, anal fissures may also cause a lot of pain during and immediately after bowel movements.
Doctors may also choose to take a biopsy of the intestine to check for tissue damage. The treatment for celiac disease is eliminating gluten from the diet. The intestinal lining begins to heal, and full restoration of the intestine is possible when adhering to a strict diet. Besides abdominal pain, ulcers may cause other problems such as heartburn, nausea and bloating.
